Satan’s congregation

27 11 2009

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said,

“We can’t keep Christians from going to church. We can’t keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth…. We can’t even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their SAVIOR. Once they gain that connection with JESUS, our power over them is broken. So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don’t have time to develop a relationship with JESUS CHRIST.”

“This is what I want you to do,” said the devil: “Distract them from gaining hold of their SAVIOR and maintaining that Vital connection throughout their day!”

“How shall we do this?” his demons shouted.

“Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable Schemes to occupy their minds,” he answered…..

“Temp them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow. Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles. Keep them from spending time with their children. As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work! Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice. Entice them to play the radio or Ipod whenever they drive.” To keep the TV, DVDs, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly. Have them kill babies before they are born. This will jam their minds and break that union with CHRIST. Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers. Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day. Invade their driving moments with billboards. Have them go to perverted life styles. Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering products, services and false hopes.”

“Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what is important, and they’ll become dissatisfied with their wives. Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night. Give them headaches too! If they do not give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere.” That will fragment their families quickly! Give them Santa Clause to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas. Give them Easter bunny so they won’t talk about Jesus Christ’s resurrection and power over sin and death….”

“Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have them return from their recreation exhausted. Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect GOD’s creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead. Keep them busy, busy, busy!”

“Make plan to have them stop prayer in schools and public places. And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled conscience. Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek the Power from Jesus. Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause. It will work! It will work!”

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their GOD or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the Power of JESUS to change lives. I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

You be the judge!!!!

Hell is Necessary – Tim Conway

19 10 2009

“How many of you think that you’ll go to hell?”

The world has themselves convinced that this is a place that they are not going to.

No man wants to believe he’s going there. You know some of you, you’ve read this text, I know that there are those of you, I know, I know based on what God’s word tells me, some of you in this place that hear my voice will go to the place I describe today. Some of you are headed there, you don’t think you are but even now you provoke God by your very attendance of His worship today because you have not Christ. You have no hope. You’re without God. But you don’t think you’ll go there. You think that somehow you’re going to reason, you’re going to figure out because of something that you have done or are doing or hope to do in the future, somehow you plan to miss that place.

3 people every second are passing into eternity. (Snapping) That fast souls are going out of this world into an eternal hell or an eternal joy. And Gods word says that most of those are on the broad way to destruction, Christ is the only way to the Father. Those who are Buddhist in this world are passing into damnation. Those who die practicing Muslims are going. Practicing Catholics if they are worshipping Mary they are not worshippers of Christ. One of those clicks has your name on it. Think about it, another and another and another and another and another you have passing off into eternity right now and another and another when you take your next breath in the time it took more souls are passing off into eternity. Men walk around they say peace and safety, peace and safety and the word of God says that sudden destruction takes hold on them, then they have these plans, if we could bring up the damned from hell right now what would they say to us? “I never thought to go here, I never thought, I never thought that hell would take me. I thought I had it figured out. It took me in a moment. It took me in a moment I didn’t expect it.” Another, another they’re passing off into eternity, they did not expect hell to take them when it did.

if we could bring up the damned from hell right now what would they say to us? “I never thought to go here, I never thought, I never thought that hell would take me. I thought I had it figured out. It took me in a moment. It took me in a moment I didn’t expect it.” Another, another they’re passing off into eternity, they did not expect hell to take them when it did.

If you are without Christ your sins are mounting up and the moment is coming when God will no longer endure you to stay here.

It is glorious and its dreadfulness and its fearfulness because it reveals to us a part of God that often times we don’t like to admit is real and exists. But it is necessary. We love to talk about God’s love, God’s goodness, God’s mercy, God’s compassion, God’s forbearance, God’s tender mercies. Oh it is good; it is good, good to give thanks to the Lord for those things. But when you think about the severity of hell you begin to realize it is not slap on the wrist. Hell is fearsome. It is dreadful. We read our bibles and we can pass over those texts so freely, so easily, weeping and gnashing of teeth. In the ESV Matthew 18, it speaks about the hell of fire. Hell is a place of fire.

And you open that door and there is a raging infernal fire inside that furnace, and Christ described hell as a fiery furnace. I can’t imagine being pushed through that little hole and then the door being shut! And it will never open! It will never open.

It should strike within our minds that hell is a place of pain unimaginable. The man in Luke 16, he cried out in his torments if only he could have a drop of water for his tongue. But not even that would be given to him. The thing that is so fearful about hell is not just that it is a fiery furnace. Not just that Isaiah would say God who can dwell with those fires but who can dwell with the everlasting burnings. Everlastings, that is the horror of horrors about hell is that it never ends. It is pain, it is excruciating, it is anguish, our generation knows very little about pain. We have so many medications; so much to dull the pain but here there will be nothing to dull it. God will not relieve your pain no matter how you cry, no matter how you weep,

You will weep; think of this, to weep forever, you will weep forever. You will weep, when you land in hell, you will weep more than all the weeping that has ever been done in all the ages of all the earth. You will fill up the measure of the weeping of every individual who has passed through life because you will weep and you will weep and you will weep.

And there’s the idea of the gnashing of teeth, whether its in the unbearable excruciating pain, there are places in scripture that attach the gnashing of teeth to anger as well. The anger at others, the anger at yourself, the anger at God still. Hell is not what some make it out to be, like purgatory. Hell does not make better. The doctrine of hell is about destruction. It doesn’t make better, it destroys everything that has any semblance of good. The image of God that is upon you man will be eternally defaced and defiled, you become even more and more and more contemptible as the eternal ages pass by.

God says in Ezekiel 8, “Therefore I will act in wrath, My eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. And though they cry in My ears with a loud voice I will not hear them.” He will hate you will a perfect hatred. He will hate you and He will have you. That is the fearsomeness of hell, the text we read says that those in hell they are going to be tormented where in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. One of the most fearful things about hell is not the total absence of God, the absence of all of His blessings yes; can you imagine forevermore not any joy, no more comfort? But God is going to be there. One of the fearful things about God is that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. He is a consuming fire.

you come to a text like John 3:36, “the wrath of God abides upon you already if you are not a believer in Jesus Christ.” Already, that doesn’t mean that God goes around with a perpetual smile upon you, it means what it says, His wrath is upon you. If you can get this idea into your minds, into your souls, into your thought process, that there are those of us in this place right now who sit here at relative ease. God hates you. God’s wrath, God’s indignation, God’s anger is directed towards you.

This is no game. If you’re not certain, if something rings true to this in your conscience that I’m in great danger of this, Christ stands ready to pardon. This is a day of mercy. This is a day of grace. Today the voice of Christ beckons you, “Come. Come unto me you that labor and are heavy laden. I’ll give you rest for your souls. Come.” Today it’s “Come. Come.” Then it will be “Depart. Depart. Depart… Depart. And the door will shut. Then it’s all over. No hope. No hope.

Whatever sin you have to leave behind, He says, “It is better to go blind than to go with two eyes into that eternal fire.” You may have some friends. You may have somebody that put pressure on you – children. You hang around with friends that would laugh at you if you did this. Don’t let anybody be responsible for damning your soul. There’s too much at stake, and don’t believe, as some say, that there’s some great party in hell. It’s not that way. You will look and you will gnash your teeth at them if you should both wind up in hell. You’ll say, “Damn you. Damn you. I’m here because of you. You lead me in that sin.” It is not a game. Your soul is at stake. Your soul is at stake. Oh God help you.

The Reality of Judgment – Paul Washer

9 10 2009

The book of Revelation 20:11:

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Before creation can be brought in with newness and holiness and righteousness there must be a judgment and in that judgment after it falls many, most people will be swept away into hell for one sole purpose, to make way for what God plans on doing in his Son Jesus Christ.

In order for the new heaven and the new earth to come about, creation must be purged of the great enemy the devil. And after he has put down the devil, then he turns to another enemy, man.

We must rid creation of the vile, despicable being who has contaminated it so.” And the words of God speaking this way causes you to tremble and then all of the sudden you hear your name. He is talking about you.

The fact of the matter is Judgment is Coming. The fact of the matter is all that we can see will be melted as with fire.

Is it a reality in your life? Are you continuing to grow in your hatred of sin and your love for righteousness? Has God done such a work in your life that the God you hated and you ignored, you now esteem, cherish and seek?

That the very reason why you were created. No, the only reason that you were created was to esteem God. To know Him, in such a way, that you would esteem Him above all things, forsake all things and seek Him and desire to know Him. So the end is not in seeking salvation. The end is not in seeking self-preservation. The end is, “I WANT HIM – GOD.”

In Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

We live in a day where we think that in order to be relevant to our culture, we must be like our culture. We live in a day where we think in order the Gospel to be relevant, we must somehow adapted it to the culture and nothing on the face of the earth or in the bowls of Hell could be further from the truth.

The worst thing that can ever happen to a preacher, the worst thing that can ever happen to a  church, the worst thing that can ever happen is to become civilized and respectable.

We live in such a trite age, where we all march in vanity fair. Where everyone wants to wear bright colors and ignore the fact that everyone is marching off a cliff into eternal destruction. Society as we know them – the West is crumbling before us and we still choose to be trite and [privilege] and happy.

The fact of the matter is man is twisted and broken.

The Reality of Judgment by Paul Washer

And they crucified Him – Art Katz

8 10 2009

I think we, every one of us ought to be humiliated of humbled every time we pick up the book of Acts and read the Glory that attended the life of that first Church. By contrast the most successful kind of Christianity that we know, the most charismatic, the most to be lauded and applauded is utterly anemic and does not bare comparison.

How is it that these rude men, fishermen and louts, who had no advantage of the kind we have enjoyed were able to turn cities upside down and shake the earth? Why is it we have not had a corresponding affect in our own generation?

The answer, in my opinion is, that in missing the cross we have missed the power of the resurrection, we have sidestepped the cross as a subject let alone as experience because we have no tolerance or sympathy for suffering.

The denial of self in any form is suffering and we have not been encouraged to that.

We have overindulged and spoiled our youth, compromised truth in our marriages, suffered causalities and losses among our ministers and given ground to the spirit of independence and rebellion in the churches. All because we cannnot stand pain.

We parents who indulge our kids rather that chasten them, are we being loving or self-indulgent?

We pastors who condescent to placate men, rather than speak the truth to them in love, why are we so sparing?

We saints who see the defects and things that need to be corrected in each other, why are we silent?

Where are the Pauls of our generation who will confront the Peters? Who have compromised the Gospel by being one thing with one group and another thing with another. Paul said he would not entertain that situation to go on beyond the moment for the purity of the Gospel’s sake. [Galatians 2:14-21]
I call that love. But you know that kind of love as an act is painful and it’s humiliating.

It’s easy to be misunderstood. For which reason we prefer to keep quiet, for which reason the world is running amuck with us and for which reason we move into increasing carnality not being corrected by one another.

The avoidance of pain is a costly avoidance. And the symbol of the cross at the heart of the faith is an invitation to share in His sufferings. In a world, our Christianity is degenerating into a middle class culture, a sanctifying cover-up for the status quo, a vacuous praise club, an equating of gain as godliness, a comfortable religiosity that leaves our real interests unchallenged and undisturbed in the avoidance of the cross of Christ Jesus.

Somehow am I naive to think we ought to look different, speak diffently, act differently that there ought to be such a savor and fragrance about us of Christ that it is a savor of death unto death to self and life unto life to others. The fact the world can so easily tolerate us, the fact of the almost complete absence of reproach, let alone persecution is itself a shameful testimony that we are so like the world that we cannot be distinguished from it.

We have lost even the difference, the sense of the difference, between that which is sacred and that which is profane. I believe that God could lay at the door of the church the full responsability for the present condition of the world. And the things over which we cluck our tongues and point our fingers and look distain down our noses about are the things which can be attributed to us. For we have not established in the earth a standard and an alternative to which a dying world might have turned.

They simply did not know that there is such a thing as that which is holy and that which is sacred. For we ourselves are wallowing in the things that are earthly, common, unclean and profane. The only alternative to which is eathly, carnal, sensual and devilish is that which is heavenly. And there is no way to attain to that which is heavenly independent of the cross of Christ Jesus.

If the prophet Isaiah seeing the Lord high and lifted up cried out, “Woe is me, I am undone! I am a man of unclean lips and I live in the midst of a people of unclean lips.-Isaiah 6:5
What then shall we say who are not prophets and oracles of God? We need to have our vision and our sight corrected. We need to address our lives to the plumb line of God. The standard of God tot he cross of Christ Jesus. Not academically, religiously or superficially but in the actual experience of our lives as those who have come willing to abandon everything.

Paul said, “I am determined to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified.-1 Corinthians 2:2

We desperately and urgently need to know Him – exactly as He is.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit – Paul Washer

8 10 2009

Everything you are in public is formed by what you are in private. You can stand before any man if you stand before God. And to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, not like these silly little evangelists that come in and have their healing lines and people falling down and all of the other circus and blasphemy that goes on. I am talking about really the power of the Holy Spirit, not some kind of circus show for money.

Like I have said, so many people say the Spirit of God is here.

No he is not, because if he was you would be dead.

We must be men filled with the Holy Spirit. We must be men who seek God. And let me tell you something. There is a big difference—and I want to point it out to you and it will probably get me in trouble if this goes on to You Tube—but it is this. There is a sense in which we look at Ephesians five, we look at Colossians 3:16-17 and we do understand that there is a direct relationship between the Word of God and it dwelling in our heart and the fulness of the Holy Spirit working through us. But there is another sense that if you are just a man who is sitting there meditating upon Scripture and thinking that because you are doing that you are going to be filled with Holy Spirit and have everything you need for the ministry you are wrong. You must go to God and cry out for greater and greater manifestations of his power in your life to carry out the task that he has given you. You must have that. You must go to him. It is an encounter with God.

Yes, founded upon his Word. Yes, everything God does with you in prayer must be conformed to his Word. But seeking God is more than just simply having a good Bible study. It is crying out to meet with the living God. It is waiting at his door step and rising up and not just simply believing by faith that he has done something to you. It is rising up and knowing that he has done something to you.

We have to be men, but not men like John Wayne or John Claude Vondom, not men strong in the flesh and strong in personality and strong in their presence and strong in their words, no, men strong, strengthened in the Holy Spirit.

The battle is horrifying. To think that you are going to oppose principalities and powers and mights and dominions, you are going to oppose the ancient serpent. You are going to go down into the well and fight hell itself. You are not going to do that in your physical strength. You are going to do that in the power of the Holy Spirit.

And do you know what is so sad today? What is so sad? It is that it is so hard to speak about these things. And do you know why? Because of all the corruption and that ludicrous activity of many, many groups that consider themselves groups filled with the Spirit when they are not filled with Spirit. They may be filled with a spirit, but it is not holy because whatever they are filled with causes them to do things that contradict everything we know about Scripture and the fruit of the Spirit.

I am talking about power, not to fall down on the ground and shake like a worm, not power to claim a Mercedes Benz, not power to say you healed somebody when, in fact, he didn’t get healed. I am talking about the power to live the Christian life, the power to walk in sacrificial love, the power to pray down strongholds, the power to preach the gospel. That is what I am talking about. That is what we need.

We can be men and women transformed, transformed.

It’s All About Christ – Paul Washer

7 10 2009

I am not here tonight to talk about men or to talk about church or religion.

For all those things have their failures and flaws.

Everyone of you can stand up and make accusations against these things.

Men are weak and sinful. Religion is sometimes weak and failing but CHRIST, there is no one like CHRIST: He’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords, He is the Son of God, He is infinite perfection, He is strong, He is mighty, He has never failed and He has fulfilled every promise He has ever made.

You have no argument against Him; for there is no one like Him.

He and He alone is the Savior of the world and the Christ of God.

So it is all about Christ.

What do you think of Him? For that is the very basis of God’s Judgment of men.

While it is true that one day you will stand before God and be judged with regards to your sin.

You must understand that the greatest question on that Day will be this “What think ye of JESUS CHRIST?“, “What have you done with Christ?

Jesus Christ created you and in that He has a claim upon you.

He is your Maker and by virtue of that He is also your Possessor, your Owner and not only does He take ownership, but He is also Lord.

You say, “I do not see that, where is His Throne?”

Know this that God has appointed a Day, In which He will judge every man through this One whom was crucified by wicked men …

JESUS CHRIST

His Throne is coming…

His Judgment is near!

And on that Day when He judges, everyone will recognize His right to judge because He is judging the very thing He has made.

There is something that you must understand about God the Father, His Son is everything to Him: Everything the Father has done He has done it for His Son, He created the world in His Son, He reveals Himself to the world through His Son, He redeems the world through His Son and He judges the world through His Son. CHRIST is foremost in every thought of God and CHRIST is foremost in the thoughts of every being that finds it’s dwelling place in heaven.

When JESUS CHRIST returns, He will stretch forth His hand upon the world and He will say, “Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine!

It was made by Me, and it was made for Me.

And seated upon His throne, God Himself will see to it that every knee bows, and every tongue confess, that “JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!

And on that day, you will know that is truly real and the word of God will be vindicated and some of you will rejoice in that!

But others of you will realize that you’ve lived for a wrong thing and you have lost all things.

It’s All About Christ by Paul Washer
