Revival Hymn Redux

6 04 2010

I will tell you that the originator of revival rest not in men but rest in God the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of God alone can originate revival! We need to invite the Spirit of God back into the church. We need to invite the Spirit of God back into our lives!

The church of Jesus Christ is largely sleeping, like a great bedroom and you have all the Christians in bed and they’re all sleeping … and they’re saying “Please, don’t wake me up! I want to sleep on!” And of course when God starts to operate a revival people cannot sleep, you can’t sleep in church when the Spirit of God awakes the people. Look at the 1st verse of this 52nd chapter…”Awake! Awake! Put on strength!”Wake up! You’re sleepy Christians! Awake thou that sleepeth, Arise from the dead! Christ will give you life!

The Revival Hymn Redux

Why should a person embrace death with Christ? Why should a person be willing to go in identification down to the cross and into the tomb and up again? I’ll tell you why! Because it’s the only way that God can get glory out of a human being!

When God stepped down, suddenly, men and women, all over the parish, were gripped by the fear of God. The Holy Spirit began to move among the people.
What was that?

Not an evangelist, not a special effort, not anything at all organized on the basis of human endeavor. But an awareness of God that gripped the whole community. So much so that work stopped, and the minister writing about what happened in the following morning said this: “You met God on meadow and moorland. You met Him in the homes of the people. God seemed to be everywhere.”

The praying and the meetings continued for several nights. Until one night, a very remarkable thing happened. There, kneeling amongst straw in the barn when suddenly, one young man rose and read part of Psalm 24. “Who shall ascend the hill of God? Who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully, he shall receive the blessing of the Lord.” And he shut his Bible. And then looking down at the minister and the other men who were kneeling there, he began to pray, “God, are my hands clean? Is my heart pure?” And that dear man got no farther. He fell on his knees, and then on his face among the straw. And he prayed, prayed and prayed again.

I’m standing beside him for about 5 minutes and then the door of the church opened. And the session clerk came in.

“Mr. Campbell, something wonderful has happened. Revival has broken out! Will you come to the door and see the crowd that’s here?”

Eleven o’clock, mind you, eleven o’clock. And I went to the door and there must have been a congregation of between 6 and 700 people, gathered around the church. And in the midst of it, I could hear the cry of the penitent. I could hear men crying to God for mercy. And within a matter of minutes the church was crowded, at a quarter to twelve.

Now, where did the people come from? How did they know that a meeting was in progress in the church? Well, I cannot tell you. But I know this: that from the village and hamlet, the people came. Were you to ask some to them today, what was it that moved you? They couldn’t tell you. Only that they were moved by a power that they could not explain and the power was such as to give them to understand and see that they were hell deserving sinners! And, of course, the only place they could think of, where they might find help, was at the church.

When I endeavored to get up into the pulpit, I found the way blocked, with young people who had been at the dance. When I went into the pulpit I found a young woman, a graduate of Aberdeen University, who was at the dance, and she’s lying on the floor of the pulpit crying, “Is there mercy for me? Is there mercy for me? Is there mercy for me?”
God was at work!

If there was a time God’s people needed to be awakened, it is today. The Spirit of God operates by awaking people. And when they’re awakened, when God’s people are awakened, this fire of prayer starts to burn. There’s nothing so dead as a dead prayer meeting. There’s nothing more alive than a live prayer meeting!

If you want to feel life in your soul then get into those passionate white-heart prayer meetings! Where men are praying, and they’re not springing sentences together. And they’re not saying the old things that you’re sick hearing in prayer meeting. Oh, no. They’re praying. They’re pleading with God. They’re crying to God. Sometimes it’s a groan! Sometimes it’s a tear! Sometimes it’s a broken sentence! Sometimes it’s a sigh! But it’s prayer!

All true passion is born out of anguish. All true passion for Christ comes out of a baptism of anguish. Folks, I’m going to tell you something: Out of this baptism of anguish comes a marvelous thing that happens to those willing to submit to it. Marvelous thing, it’s the instant, prompt knowing of God’s voice.

Now, see, if you don’t have a history of prayer, if you don’t have this willingness of share in God’s heart. You get it by asking Him for it. He said, “I’ll give, I’m more willing to give than you are to receive”. This is something you ask! Oh, God, I want to step out now, I want to know your heart.

I’m going to say to you dear friend, if you’re out here without Christ, you come to Jesus Christ and and serve Him as long as you live whether you go to hell at the end of the way because He’s worth! I say to you, Christian friend, you come to the cross and join Him in union in death and enter into all the meaning of death to self in order that He can have glory.

There are numbers among us that are changing! And they don’t know it. You’ve lost your fight! That’s all the devil wants to do is get the fight out of you! And kill it! So you won’t labor in prayer anymore. You won’t weep before God anymore. You can sit and watch television and your family goes to hell!

What is thunder and lightning? Well, according tot he Psalmist, and according to the Bible everywhere, thunder and lightning are but a kind of indication of God’s power! The God who said at the beginning, “Let there be light”, and there was light! Well, now, He just gives you an indication of what His power is in the flash of the lightning! The roar of the thunder! These are the premises of God’s might, God’s power, God’s eternal ability. Very well, a revival, I said, is just a kind of “touch” of His glory. a fleeting glimpse of something of what He is in and of Himself. And I am emphasizing this, my dear friends, because you and I must come to realize that these things are possible! And these things are meant for us. We were never meant to be content with a little. We were never meant to be content with a little.

“Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?”

It’s time to re-examine our lives…
repent of our ways…
and God the Holy Spirit will come, like fire.

Revival Hymn Redux

Thoughts On That Judgment Day – Leonard Ravenhill

26 01 2010

Oh God, stamp eternity on my eyeballs! But you know if God should stamp eternity or even judgment on our eyeballs or if you’d like on the fleshy table of our hearts. I am quite convinced we’d be  a very very different tribe of people, God’s people, in the world today.

We live too much in time, we are too earth bound. We see as others men see. We think as other men thinks. We invest our time as the world invests it. We invest our money. We are supposed to be a different breed of people. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ needs a new revelation of the majesty of God. We’re all going to stand one day… can you imagine it?.. At the judgment seat of Christ to give an account for the deeds done in the body.

This is what – this is the King of kings and He’s the Judge of judges and it’s the Tribunal of tribunals and there’s no court of appeal after it. The verdict is final.

Listen, when you see Jesus, you’re not going to go up and say “Hey buddy, I’m glad You died for me.” When you see Jesus you will be almost paralyzed with fear unless you have a glorified body and a glorified mind.

You say, “Well Mr. Ravenhill, I won’t be in serious trouble because you know, I don’t have a good memory.” Well, I’ll tell you what, you’ll have one that day. In Malachi, it says that God has a book of remembrance. And I think it would do you good before you go to bed every night this week to ask God, “What did you put in Your book today for my life?”

Did you get up this morning and thank God you are pure, huh? Did you thank Him that the devilish fever you use to have for sniffing cocaine or drugs of something that He broke the shackles of it? Are you really glad you’re not a prostitute now, you’re going to be a part of the Bride of the Lamb? Are you glad He had remove from your heart covetousness and bad temper and all those creepy horrible things that use to master you?

The most shattering thought I’d ever had is my personal accountability to God one day. We are not going to be judged just because of what we’ve done, we’re going to be judged for why we did it! Not for the action, for the motive. What motivated your giving? Why? What’s the motive behind it? He doesn’t just take your sins, he takes your self, He takes the government of your life. And it is not only true we live in a world of bankrupt politics, we live in a world, and this is the tragic of all, of a bankrupt church.

When in God’s Name is the church going to open her heart again and open her mind again and see again? Cam God forgive every sin I’ve ever committed? I said, He sure can. That is if you repent of your sin and you plead for the Blood of Christ and you ask for mercy. That tender Christ who went about doing good and He kissed little babies and blessed people… Now, ahh… there is nothing more beautiful than a little lamb. There is nothing more terrible than the wrath of the Lamb.

God should bring every work into judgment with every secret thing. The dead, small, and great are going to stand before God in that awesome day. But say, Am I just a showman? What’s my secret life like? ‘Cause God has not merely given us Jesus Christ, He has given us all things. And because there isn’t enough joy in the house of God, we need entertainment. Because entertainment is the devil’s substitute for joy.

I think before we point the finger at the world, we better turn to the church and say: “Look we’d better all get sackcloth and ashes and humble ourselves and say Almighty God.”

When I see the church in the New Testament, the didn’t have stately buildings, they didn’t have paid evangelists. They didn’t have a  lot of money. They didn’t have organization. They couldn’t get on TV and beg. But I’ll tell you what they did – they turned the world upside down!! And I’m embarrassed to be a part of the church of Jesus today because I believe it’s an embarrassment to a Holy God.

Most of our joy is clapping our hands and having a good time and then afterward, we’re talking all the dribble of the world.

Oh to be lost in Him! To be consumed in Him!

You get so near to the heart of God, that you share His grief over a world and over a backslidden church that we have today. Because if you’re going to get mature in God, all the dwarfs around you will criticize and sneer at you and say, “You’re trying to be holier than the rest of us, huh?”

You’ll discover this – the men who have been most heroic for God have been the men with the greatest devotional life. The only thing that will tie me in victory continually through the Blood of Christ is my personal devotions to Him, the Son of God. My adoration that I give Him my tribute everyday. It’s more than my service, it is more than giving my money. That I love Him and I adore Him and I magnify Him and I take Him as it were by the feet.

You know why the world is poor and sick outside? Because we really don’t know how to pray, that’s why.

I’ve said it many times, so I say it again this morning – that no man is greater than his prayer life. Let me live with a man awhile and share his prayer life and i’ll tell you how tall I think he is or how majestic I think he is in God.

It’s going to be an awesome day. You see there is no possible… no possibility of any rehearsal. And what, there’s no possibility of any repetition. Because again this is the final judgment.

I think again of a statement Dr. Tozer made to me once. He said, “Len you know what?” He said, “We’ll hardly get our feet out of time into eternity and gaze on eternity that we bow our heads in shame and humiliation and say: “My God, look at all the richest there were in Jesus Christ and I come to the judgment seat almost a pauper.”

Master forgive, and inspire us anew. Banish our worldliness, help us to ever live with eternity’s values in view.

Said that great man who birthed that revival – “God stamp eternity on my eyeballs.”

You know, if we can’t live as a different breed of people on this earth, we have no right to live here. And if we get back to a people who are really baptized with obedience, submissive to the total will of God. Not concerned about human opinion, not asking for more to spend prodigally on ourselves but say, “Oh God, I want this life of mine adjusted so when I stand in Your awesome presence.” As James says – we shall not be ashamed of His appearing.

Are you going to let the lost out run you? – Tim Conway

25 01 2010

If you really believe that this is all true. If this is indeed. You know, when it says over Revelation 14 (v. 13). It says that when we are entering into our rest; our deeds follow us. I tell you this, through all eternity, the things you do in this life and the service of Christ are going to follow you there. And yet, you are giving yourself to the trivialities and the vanities of this life. Amazing!

You know what? Your professing child of God. You say you believe in eternal rewards. You say there is treasure to be had in heaven but then you compare yourself to a lost man and he is out-running you. He is investing all his stuff in this life because he believes that it is going to bring him pleasure. You say, you believe the greatest treasure is at His right hand in the world to come and yet, by your life, you are not proving it and he is outrunning you and his objective [is] what he wants to accomplish than what you are running in. We speak one way brethren, we live another way and we ought to hang our heads that this world should be out-runners.

Jesus Christ said, “I would that you would show yourself in or out, hot or cold. And it you are going to be lukewarm, if you are going to serve Me with a half heart. It sickens Me. I’ll vomit you out of My mouth.” He is not speaking to some turks over there in Esmer bowing down there to their Allah. No! He is speaking to a church just like I am speaking to you now. Not to the lost hordes down there! He is speaking to the Church and He is saying, “If you are going to serve Me with a half heart, divided heart. I hate it, It sickens Me!” Go one way or the other but get off the middle. And if you are not ready, listen and I say this as far as membership to this church. If you are not willing to commit to be hot and to be commit to go all the way, I am not saying God may not move you, God may not take you to another place, that may happen. But when you come, you need to be committed to serve the Living Christ with some heat, with some fervency, with some passion, with some commitment. If you want to play games, there’s a lot of other places that you can go play games. But, we want to do it according to the Word do we not? And it says do it with fervency. It say, don’t be slothful in this.

Zeal matters, passion matters, over, over, over, over, over, over again in the Bible we find, intensity matters, zeal matters, whole heartiness matters, don’t settle for anything less. Too many lazy Christians or at least ‘professing’ lazy Christians. Make no mistake about it, the LORD Christ is calling you to put away your idleness, put away your slothfulness, all your laziness, all your half heartiness. Serve Him as a slave with a boiling spirit. That’s what we are called to do.

BRETHREN, DON’T BE SLOTHFUL. DON’T BE IDLE. There are too much sloth, and sluggishness, and slowness in Christians today.

I am serving the One who died for me. I am serving the One who gave Himself for me. I am serving Him who gave Himself up a fragment offering to His Father on my behalf. Now, let that sink in!

Beloved, we don’t just want to serve Christ, we want to love Christ. We’re not like those pagans. Oh, I’ve got pictures in my mind. Hindus in their yard, in their little doll house looking altars bowing really fast. It is almost you are looking at it and that thing can’t be real. We are not like them. We don’t serve our Christ like the pagans all full of fear, all full of terror. Brethren, If Christ would have to stand here right now, you know, He would speak with authority and yet, with compassion. If He had spoken that way, and He said “Look at My wounds, I’ve done this for you. What have you done for Me?” IS THAT NOT WORTH YOUR FERVENCY?

Are you going to let the lost out run you? by Tim Conway

Radical Christian Sacrifice – John Piper

24 01 2010

Let’s pray together,
Father, we together now renounce, I do pray that these friends would do this with me, renounce all self-reliance. We renounce all vain glory. We renounce pride. We renounce greed. We renounce covetousness. We renounce cowardice and the fear of men. We renounce lust and those pornographic things that threaten to sweep our brains away, even this morning. We renounce anxiety about what is going on at home and ask for freedom. We renounce sinful anger, bitterness at people at our church and spouses who disappoint, mom who doesn’t understand at all what I am dreaming. We renounce satan in all his works and in all his ways and now together collectively, we submit to Christ and we submit to your Word. And, we ask for the Holy Spirit to brute over these thousands that something extraordinary would happen here for the sake of the glory of Christ and the good of the Church and the reaching of the nations, exceedingly and abundantly, beyond everything we have dreamed, and we have dreamed much. So come, come Holy Spirit. I ask in Jesus name. Amen.

My desire and prayer to God is that your life and your ministry would have a radical flavor. A gutsy, counter-cultural, war-time flavor that makes average American people in your church uncomfortable. A strange mixture of tenderness and toughness that keeps people a little bit off balance. A pervasive summons to something more and something hazardous, something wonderful. A saltiness and brightness about your life and about your church, something like Jesus.

Salt and light are joyful embrace of suffering. That’s for what the world is waiting for.

I don’t come here for nothing, I want something… I want you to do something. I want this world to be rocked by your lives.

Where are the young men and women of this generation who will hold their lives cheap, and be faithful even unto death, who will lose their lives for Christ’s, flinging them away for love of him? Where are those who will live dangerously, and be reckless in this service? Where are the men of prayer? Where are the men who count God’s Word of more importance to them than their daily food? Where are the men who, like Moses of old, commune with God face to face? Where are God’s men in this day of God’s power?

They are not impress with us: prosperous, wealthy, save, middle class, do whatever everybody does people. DON’T BUILD A CHURCH LIKE THAT!

Stephen’s face shown like an angel. His face shown like an angel. They couldn’t resist his wisdom and they killed him. And it will cost you your life to build a church that doesn’t live like the rest of the world. You got to live like that. You got to have a flavor about your life that is risky and radical and different.

The only people that are of any earthly good are those who are radically heavenly minded that they are free from this world. Free from STUFF, STUFF, STUFF, STUFF, STUFF IS KILLING US! Houses are killing us, books are killing us, carpet is killing us, cars are killing us, computer are killing us.What creates this craziness, what creates this radical risk-taking sacrificial life is the reward that is coming and it is everything to me!

We treasure our future reward, vastly more than we treasure this world and our family, our wives, our children, our books, our ministry, sex, food, exercise, vacation, job, success, friendship, a claim. We treasure our future reward a thousand more than we treasure our children, our wives, our churches.

Christ- supreme, glorious, magnificent, personal and precious is that reward.
He is God’s final revelation.
He is the heir of all things.
He is the creator of the world.
He is the radiance of God’s glory.
He is the exact imprint of God’s nature.
He upholds the universe by the word of his power.
He made purification for sins
He sits at the right hand of the Majesty
He is God, enthroned forever, with a scepter of uprightness.
He is worshiped by angels.
His rule will have no end.
His joy is above all other beings in the universe.
He took on human flesh.
He was crowned with glory and honor because of his suffering.
He was the founder of our salvation.
He was made perfect in all his obedience by his suffering.
He destroyed the one who has the power of death, the devil.
He delivered us from the bondage of fear.
He is a merciful and faithful high priest.
He made propitiation for sins.
He is sympathetic because of his own trials.
He never sinned.
He offered up loud cries and tears with reverent fear, and God heard him.
He became the source of eternal salvation.
He holds his priesthood by virtue of an indestructible life.
He appears in the presence of God on our behalf.
He will come a second time to save us who are eagerly waiting for him.
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Therefore, let us go to Him outside the camp and bear the reproach He endured. Jesus is not standing back and say, “Go there!” He is saying, “I am right at here” You are in there which is so comfortable, it is so save inside Jerusalem, it is so save inside the church, inside the house. “I am at here, come to Me!” Brothers and sisters, the sweetest fellowship with your Savior and your treasure that you will ever know is the fellowship of His sufferings.

Radical Christian Sacrifice by John Piper

Joy from Christ, not your performance – Paul Washer

24 01 2010

Father, I will preach a message today that I myself had trouble living. Lord do not allow me to be in the hypocrisy of making people believe I am something I am not. For I know Lord that there are no such thing, there is no such thing as a great man of God only weak, pitiful, faithless man of a great and merciful God. Oh Lord that you would provide the power through your Holy Spirit to change my life through this message and to make me more conform to the image of Christ through this message. Lord I will greatly appreciate it. Help us all Lord in Jesus name. Amen.

May God help is all get our greatest joy from Christ, and not from our performance.

I am so tired of just doing. So tired of having my Christian life reduced down to how I perform and what I do. Jesus Christ comes to me. His yoke is easy and His burden is light, and He tells me this, “It is not what you do, for I can raise up rocks to do what you do and to do better than you do. But it is, Paul, the seal that I’ve set up upon you, the decree and the hope is that you would be conformed to My image.” That you would be conform… that is what He desires. And I submit to you today that all the problems, if not all, most of the problems in your life come from who you are not, from your character. Who you are as a person. Our squabbles in our marriages come from fleshly outbursts. They come from not reflecting Jesus Christ. The problem between brothers, the problem in life, the problem.. the disruption of our own conscience, everything comes down from: we are not putting enough emphasize where emphasize belongs and it is on “becoming like Jesus“. Everybody want to do something, when we ought to be wanting to be something.

Now listen to me, this might set some of you free. Do you ever get up in the morning and you had your quiet time and feel the presence of God and you were studying the Word and you seem to, God seems to speak to you and then you go out and you witness to everybody and you are obedient, and, boy, you just did it right that day. I mean you just were on top of the world, you loved your wife, you didn’t kick the cat, you are just walking with God and you are so full of joy at the end of the day. Then the next day you get up, well you overslept, you should’ve watched that program that night before, you should have been in the Word, you didn’t witness when you had an opportunity and there’s a real sense that you are filled with sorrow. You know what it is? Idolatry. You have become the source of your own joy. Your joy comes from you and your continous work. My joy comes from the finish work of Jesus Christ.

Now I want to be obedient, I want to witness, I want to love my wife and there is a great sense that the Holy Spirit convicts me when I do not do those things. But the point is, poverty of spirit is a wonderful thing because when you realize. It is like I use to tell to young preachers, I’d say, in order to preach you have to have the power of God on your life. Now I them in order to tie your shoes, you have to have the power of God on your life. You cannot breath.

Sometimes I get invited to church growth conferences, not really often but they will talk of all these great things that they are going to do, then I will get up and say, “Let me ask you a  question: From where does every breath come? From God. From where does every beat of your heart, from where does they come? From God. Oh so you caracterize all here you pastors and preachers and evangelists and missionaries with all these great plans, now let me tell you something. YOU CAN’T EVEN BREATH. Your heart will not even beat except for the power of God on your life.”

Apart from any measure of grace in my life, I would be here to you today nothing more than deceiving demonstration of atheistical flesh. That’s all I would ever be!

I was reading through Galatians this morning and I was so convicted. I was reading through Galatians and it talked about desertion and disputes, things like that. And I realize that sometimes I do that with my wife and it just showed me that it wasn’t that well you know I have .. we just have a problem where we dont agree. The fact of the matter is, I am in the flesh. I am in the flesh and I am not relying upon the power of God and the reason why I am not is because I am not poor in spirit. Someones says, “Well I am poor in spirit”. How much do you pray? How much do you tremble? How much do you rely on the wisdom of God revealed in His Word? Poverty of spirit.

But isn’t that wonderful, church, listen to me. Isn’t wonderful that you don’t have to be something big. Actually what you have to be is something low, something broken and humble, take the back seat, wash the feet, be timid and afraid of any task put before you so that it drives you to your knees. Realize in the morning that I shall not move to my left or to my right, one quarter of a inch because without the power of God upon my life, surely I will fall. Thats what the passage means in prayer, “lead us not into temptation”.

It is a recognition of weakness. and a recognition of a tremendous need of grace.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3)

Oh what a place, what a place!

Joy from Christ, not your performance by Paul Washer

It will cost you everything – Steven Lawson

2 12 2009

You need to way in on the cost factor and count the costs of being a disciple of Jesus Christ.

It will cost you popularity, it will cost you promotion perhaps at times, it will cost you an easy life, you will have to discipline yourself, you will have to buffed your body, you will have to say “No” to temptation, you will have to say “No” to this world, you will have to break with a crowd, you will have to be willing to stand alone for Christ, you will have to be willing walk to the beat of a different drummer and to step out of the crowd even if no one follows after Jesus Christ, you would be willing to stand if you were the only person in the world for Jesus Christ. That’s the cost factor.

You will have to be willing to suffer persecution for Christ and let me tell you, it will come. It might even cost you your life.

He is not coming to play games. He not is coming to be dazzle.

He is coming to dominate. He is coming to slaughter.

He is the King of king and He is the Lord of lord. and at the end of this age, He will bolt out of heaven on a white steed and His garments are dripped in blood. The blood of His own enemies and He is coming back to conquer and to damn.

You need to make terms of peace with this coming King or you will be subjected in damnation forever and Jesus Christ has made terms of peace.

You need to settle out of court with Him. You do not want to go into that final day of conflict with Christ.

For He will be ruthless in the execution of His Justice but He offers you mercy today. He will agree to terms of surrender. He will agree to terms of peace but they are His terms of peace, not ours and His terms of peace are very simply this: You must hate your own father and mother and brother and sister and even your own life more than Me or you cannot be My disciple And you must take up a cross and follow Me or you cannot be My disciple. And if you do not, you will meet Me in the final judgment and it will glorify God in your destruction.

He is pressing you for a decision. He will not be put off. You cannot hit the mute button any longer in your heart, you must answer Him.

Verse 33, “so then,” conclusion, “none of you can be My disciple”

So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.” –Luke 14:33

He is saying none of you can be a true Christian, None of you can be in My Kingdom, None of you can be in right relationship with Me or the Father, None of you can be My disciple Who does not give up all His own possessions.

What is our Lord saying? He is not backing off.

He is increasing the commitment that He is calling for with every line of this section. Well He is not saying that you have to buy your way into the Kingdom of Heaven for none of us have enough gold and none of us have enough silver to ever remove the stain of sin that has defiled our inner soul.

What is He saying? Who does not give up ALL of his own possessions.

Well this must be taken in context with other texts of Scripture and let me just cut to the bottom line of the bottom line. You must transfer the ownership of all that you are and all that you have to all that He is. That’s what He is saying.

You life is no longer your life, it is now His life. You time is no longer your time, it is now His time. Your possessions are no longer your possessions, they are now His possessions. Your future is no longer your future, it is now His future. Your treasure is no longer your treasure, it is His treasure. And you have transferred all that you are and all that you have to all that He is.

That’s what is is… to meet His terms of peace. Yet, the exchange is not bartered or bought with real money but it is purchased with the total complete surrender of your life to Christ. That’s what saving faith is. It is coming to the end of yourself and completely and entirely and trusting all that you are and all that you have to all that He is.

This is your eternal soul. This is the only life you will ever live. This deals with the only eternity you will ever have.

And so He says, “salt is good but If even salt has become tasteless, meaning it gives evidence that was never true salt to begin with. With what will it be season, and the answer is nothing. Verse 34, it is useless either for the soil or the manure pile. It’s just no good to anyone, not to God, not to Christ, not to the Kingdom, not to the movement. You’re just taking up a seat for someone else. There were other people who were trying to get into this.

It is useless either for the soil. Your not even worth the toilet, spiritually speaking. Because you have not come to the place of total surrender of your life and supreme legiance and supreme loyalty to Christ. You have not yet come under the Lordship of Christ and taken up a cross to follow after Him. And then He says, “he who has hears to hear, let him hear.”

You need to give strictest attention to what God has said in His Son. For God has spoken in His Son to us in this conference and God has brought everyone of us to this place. Not one of us is here by accident or by happenstance and it is the goodness of God and the mercy of God that has brought you to this place where you have heard of Isaiah 53. You have heard of the suffering Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who upon that cross became sin for us. Upon that cross He died to self that He might live for us and that He might bear our sins and iniquities upon that tree and purchase our salvation. And there is salvation in no other name, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” And He is calling out to you today “Come unto Me, all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will take you in and receive you unto Myself take My yoke upon you. And learn of Me for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest for your souls. For My burden is easy and My yoke is Light.” It is.

You will have the weight of sin lifted off of you and you will now have the yoke of Christ upon you and He gets into that yoke with you and He pulls with you but it will require the total commitment of your life to Him.

Oh, how we ought to search our hearts here today. Have I come to this place of total commitment in my life? Have I yielded my life to the sovereign lordship of Him who dies upon the cross for me. I want you to know that the gates of paradise have been swung open to you. The narrow gate is open and if you will take a step of faith and come through this narrow gate, and commit your life to Him. Despite the strength of His words. He also says, “him who comes unto Me I will in no wise cast out.”

He is calling you today to come, to come to Him, to take a step of faith and to come to Him but if you come to Him. Don’t play games. You must surrender to Christ.

Satan’s congregation

27 11 2009

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said,

“We can’t keep Christians from going to church. We can’t keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth…. We can’t even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their SAVIOR. Once they gain that connection with JESUS, our power over them is broken. So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don’t have time to develop a relationship with JESUS CHRIST.”

“This is what I want you to do,” said the devil: “Distract them from gaining hold of their SAVIOR and maintaining that Vital connection throughout their day!”

“How shall we do this?” his demons shouted.

“Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable Schemes to occupy their minds,” he answered…..

“Temp them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow. Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles. Keep them from spending time with their children. As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work! Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice. Entice them to play the radio or Ipod whenever they drive.” To keep the TV, DVDs, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly. Have them kill babies before they are born. This will jam their minds and break that union with CHRIST. Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers. Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day. Invade their driving moments with billboards. Have them go to perverted life styles. Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering products, services and false hopes.”

“Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what is important, and they’ll become dissatisfied with their wives. Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night. Give them headaches too! If they do not give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere.” That will fragment their families quickly! Give them Santa Clause to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas. Give them Easter bunny so they won’t talk about Jesus Christ’s resurrection and power over sin and death….”

“Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have them return from their recreation exhausted. Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect GOD’s creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead. Keep them busy, busy, busy!”

“Make plan to have them stop prayer in schools and public places. And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled conscience. Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek the Power from Jesus. Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause. It will work! It will work!”

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their GOD or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the Power of JESUS to change lives. I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

You be the judge!!!!
